Re: troubles with special format.
what size composition are you using? have you tried scaling down in avenue?
Re: troubles with special format.
i use 2048/768 with 2 projectors in 1024/768
Re: troubles with special format.
recoding the video doesn't help?
(try recoding in after effects)
i also have corrupted files (with an older dxv codec)... they worked until "something" happened
i'll try to upload it next time.

1200x300 (12:3) and 2048x768 ) (8:3) are 2 different aspect ratio's.. no wonder you loose some of the picture's width
Try it with a 800x300 / 1600x600 / 2400x900 / etc. picture.. that will fit exact.
so.. make sure your composition aspect ratio is exactly the same as your footage aspect ratio !
edit: you can use your 1200x300 picture perfectly ok on a 2048x768 composition, but then you have to resize/stretch it on clip/layer level... it gives you a littlebit of a deformed picture... or scaling, but then... what you gain on the width, you'll loose on the height ...
