I'm just about to install the omega radeon mobility drivers onto a dell laptop which has a radeon 9600.

Has anyone had any problems installing these before.

Cheers

hello everyone!

could you explain the advantages of the OMEGA drivers (copared to the CATALYST) please?

when trying to install them, it prompts that i dont have directxp installed, which i have. is this serious?

thx in advance,
LarsAttacks

i,ve had this msg before on my old Sony laptop but it was problematic.

with the omega drivers you often get more options to configure your displays. (like overscan for the tv-out) But if you are not missing any options don,t bother .. if it aint broke don,t fix it!

It also is modified to add support to Mobility cards which are missing from the default Catalyst Drivers. ATI leave it to individual laptop manufacturers to update the drives (which often never happens). Omega drivers or even the official ATI.com drivers with a modifed inf for support will no doubt improve your drivers for you card.
