I've got something really strange happening.
My Acer computer (dual core 2.10ghz , 3 gb ram, Radeon hd 3200) Used to be able to run 3 clips at 30 fps without a problem. (720x480 DVX codec running on internal drive or usb drive no difference)
Now my frame rate is very unstable. 1 clip playing going between 30 to 15 fps. 2 clips playing going from 20 fps to 10 fps... Browsing the interface (Scrolling trough composition clips etc.) Seams to afffect a bit the fps also
Here's what i've tried :
A Brand fresh windows 7 install, with only Resolume installed
(tried version 3.3.2 and also 3.2.0)
Tried running the clips from internal hard drive or external drive
I've tried disabling video blending mode and global effects.
I've run a check disk and defrag on all my drive
Tried it without my midi controller.
No change at all !!
Any clues ?
It used to run well, but now low FPS
Re: It used to run well, but now low FPS
Well i think i've found the problem.
When i did the fresh install of windows, i've copied the "resolume avenue" folder in my documents from my old windows (with compostions preference and recorded folder) to keep my settings
Now i've tried deleting the whole folder, and restarting resolume. It seams to be running well. What was causing the problem? i dont know but it seams to work...

Re: It used to run well, but now low FPS
Same problem here.
I have a laptop just with arena in it. One day I play it a bit, all runs smooth and gives me over 60fps.
Then, another day I just turn on, open resolume and the fps goes down to 20 fps.
No changes on resolume config, power settings, display settings, no hd changes... A mistery.
I will try deleting de preferences file again. That's a good one.

Try defragging your hard drive
I always finds that helps keep a consistent performance out of windows machines. The way windows stores files sometimes causes it to be very time consuming in accessing them, so I'd recommend weekly defrags on a heavily used system.
You can set it to automatically do it at night (mine runs at 4am) so as to not disturb you actually using the system.

Re: It used to run well, but now low FPS
i had problems when connecting a scan converter to my 6 output setup.... resolume runs around 40fps, if i connect the scan converter the framerate in resolume stays at 40fps, but it's gets very laggy, i would guess about 10fps going out...
if i disconnect the scan converter everything is smooth again?!

Sure! But the drive have not changes when the dropout happens. If I run perfectdisk the drive is less than 1% fragmented.LXConcepts wrote:Try defragging your hard drive
