Hi,
I've been using resolume and DXV codec for some time, but i never realised this thing
with dynamic VJ loops, but now i work on a fashion show and i have a bunch of artbeat
smooth videos like liquid smoke etc. And i see that videos even DXVs don't playback smoothly..
There is a little twitching ...

3 outputs on each card (2 x VGA and 1 x either HDMI or DisplayPort)

i think it's more about HDD speed, than processor or graphics, 'cos while switching during the show u have already few stream going + u want to load all the loops in the next deck, and than it's also a bit of a software thing, about how resolume does the whole switching thing....

it takes a few secs to load and and fps drops rapidly for that time

i get like 35-40 fps with the 2 years old model of MBP, with the new model u'll get little more because of the better graphic card... I use a lot of loops in the composition and yeah, deck switching is not that smooth, so i try to put as much as i can into deck1

well, that's the other thing.. my 1280x480 loops are very long (sometimes even 2 minutes.) and that's why i can't use soo many layers with my notebook and TH2G, and also i'm a big fan of blending modes so i don't dissable global effects....i use 1920x480 too, but than i can use only 3-4 layers..

I'm using MacBook Pro, 2,5 GHz, 4 GB RAM, nvidia 8600 GT - for video loops i use external HDD 7200 rpm connected via expresscard34 to eSata

sure, there is no other way to use QC, only on OS X.. but when u need to trigger long video files with big resolutions, looks like under Windows it's way better... But this is why i bought expensive MBP to use both of the systems....
