I might be better off contacting the developers for a direct answer. Quicktime has always sucked on PC and I'm relieved it's gone to be honest, so interested to know what future plans are (if any) on the mp4 front. just had a thought.. I recently uninstalled quicktime (as recommended for PC these days) so I wonder if that could have something to do with the extension change not working. Interestingly the renamed files still play in VLC though.

I just double checked and changing the file extension to .mov isn't working for me. These are files that play on every other piece of software on my system.. could it be related to audio encoding? Regardless it would be so much easier to just be able to drag them into the software without renaming ...

I'm currently at a Festival having rendered out master HD mp4 files which I use as final format for all my work. They render nicely out of Sony Vegas, aren't huge, play back well on slow old systems through Touch Designer, Arkaos etc and compression artifacts are never a problem. I only need to play ...
