Oaktown: I had tried what you suggested, but that is what resulted in the soft edge blend flipping with the slice. The soft edge was then at the outer edge of the slice, rather than on center where it overlaps the other slice.

Thanks for the reply. The Fx4 does seem like a good option, but it is very expensive ($2873 for the unit with SDI outputs, which is what I need). I'm hoping to spend less if I can still achieve the same result.
