Front & Rear Projection Using 2 Outputs with 2 Projectors

Post by Hobbes »

Hello All.

I have a setup where I am using 2 projectors coming out of 2 separate outputs on my Macbook Pro. They are connected to the projectors via Blackmagic Mini Monitors. One projector is for front projection and one is for rear projection. I need to send separate content to each projector. The content is 1920x1080. I have set the composition size to 3840x1080 and then created 2 slices each at 1920x1080 (one for the front projector output, and one for the rear projector output). My thought was that I could use slice transform to then assign layers to either the front projector or rear projector slice. However, this does not seem to be working. Signal is getting to the projectors, but I cannot seem to control what goes to the front projector vs. the rear.

What is the best way for me to accomplish having separate control of what appears on the front projector vs. the rear projector? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

without plugins i would probably do 1 to 2 layers for screen 1 and 1 to 2 layers for screen 2.
Edit: Or use slice transform on all the content layers, map a layer selector, map the screens, so i can switch each layer. Or use Layer routers.
With plugins like mapper or stageflow i would make 3 looks (SC1/SC2/Both).

There are so much possible ways to do this… You should test it yourself, what the best way is for you…
