At the moment I am shooting clips for and preparing a new AV-performance which is going to use alpha channels a lot and was just praying that DXV alpha support would be released before the performance takes place. I am really relieved now!
last week I bought myself a Novation Launchpad. Since (afaik) Resolume Avenue does not support Midi Out to let the Buttons glow I coded a little sketch right before a gig in processing. It lets the Launchpad glow and communicates with Avenue. So if anyone is interested you can find it on my ...
... and have a additional question:
Does anyone know how the 8400M GS is performing compared to the 9400M? 9400M is using shared memory which is why I suppose it is slower, but the chip is newer ...
This problem seems to be not only one of Resolume 3. Today I was working on some MAX/MSP/Jitter stuff and I noticed that video the second screen was not working. Since Jitter uses OpenGL too I tried the option that helped with Resolume and it did also help in this case.
if you know how to patch or are willing to learn it you could probably use puredata or max/msp to analyse the sound to detect the bpms and then send random midi notes to a virtual midi device. in resolume you just have to define the right midi notes to your clips.
