yes yu can !
depending the controller, you'll have to use a MIDI splitter or not
e.g : yu don't need that with a BCF but you will with a Pocket Dial

Not really using Live but a rm1x, same princip.
What yu can do is a lot of automation, record a set,make some patterns (videos triggered) and just take care of the effects, link video to audio, what ever yu want

Just my 2 cents, but i had the opportunity to test it at Avit, well, this works well, looks quite sturdy, the only strange thing is that you got all the controls on hands, very different feeling than my bunch of midi controllers :)
