Re: DMX automap preset for Arena 6

I've used this automap in the past, but now I can't get it to work on either 6.1.0 rev61231 or 6.1.3 rev63441

I can get the automap from the first post in this chain to work, so I know I'm putting them in the right folder. Any ideas???

Please give it a try with a lighting console that has a Resolume 5 Fixture profile, to check if everything works as expected.
Thanks!
Awesome! Thanks Zoltan.

I'll try it out later next week. The one I created didn't have these features available:
Composition Playhead Direction
Layer Crossfade Select (A/B)
Layer Move Up/Down
Layer Playhead
Layer Playmode
Layer Direction
Layer Speed
Layer Autopilot

Did you fins a way around that in yours?

It absolutely baffles me that people can get super seep into MIDI programming but cry like children because they can't get an automap for DMX

Do we need a MIDI automap next? haha!

I was only able to find the Reso 5 Automap in the List auf DMX-Maps.
Is it a bug or is it a feature?
Whre are my other XML-Files with DMX-Presets? Some of them are just renamed.
I started Resolume severeal times, but still some of the DMX-Presets seem to be gone..

(See attached Screenshots of the files from TotalCommander and Resolume 6.1.4)

Presets which have the same name will only show once in the list.
The preset name is stored in the XML, try editing them and making the preset names unique.

Not very funny.

Of course we don't need a MIDI auto map. But we do need a DMX one. Now.
I would absolutely LOVE a MIDI auto map, seriously. Is there one around?

There are some presets we provide for popular controllers.

A forum like this would be a great place to share the shortcut presets you make.

Hello!

As a professional with a sudden need to add resolume to my team's bag of tricks (alongside the other 5 servers we collectively know), it's distressing to me that there's not a dmx shortcuts map created BY the software maker, PROOFED to work in a manner that brings the needed features to the surface in a robust manner when being controlled by the (hopefully) also proofed and accurate fixture profile for lighting console platforms (our weapon of choice is GrandMA2 or 3) that I can rely on without someone on my team having to line by line make this dmx shortcut map to match a console profile.

Create "levels" of maps if you must: Quick, Complete, and Advanced if you must, and provide them with the install. The MIDI guys may like to "get deep into programming" as an earlier contributor to this threat said, but I assure you...I and many of my contemporaries absolutely do NOT have time or patience or resources to devote to this creation and proofing process for DMX consoles. Not to mention: professionals need a CONSISTENT map that matches profiles across systems and installations on tours, for one-off productions, you name it.

Let people change them if they want, but YOU the maker need to put forth a "best use case" version as part of the product.

Thanks.

There is no possible mapping that will fit every possible workflow.

You can create your own preset in about 15 minutes. You might want to give it a try.

You could have created one already in the time you typed your post...
