I'm not sure if this would need to have a "DXV4" codec implementation or something else,
But it would be really awesome to have a way to add "tags" to VJ loop library clips that can then be searchable. Sometimes in the moment, finding that perfect clip in several subfolders and drives is just not quick enough. Being able to add multiple metadata tags for quick filtering, like most audio DAW sample library's or Rekordbox does, would be super helpful.
I could, for example, add "red" "circular" "alpha" separate tags to a clip, and then searching for those would pull up that clip, along with others that match.
Yes, there is a workaround to this by renaming every single clip's actual name to include description tags, but I don't necessarily love this solution as you have to constantly update clip names which breaks the location of the clip linked in resolume composition. And it really only works if all your media is in a singular folder.
It would be great if media library management got a total overhaul, where you tell Resolume various folders to look for content in, and then there is a search bar or shortcut to pull up a search bar that then when typed into looks for name or tags that match that.
Could go even further and add filtering for resolution sizes, frame rates, alpha included etc.
The metadata for the tags might also not have to be included directly in the file itself. A separate metadata folder could exist in Resolume system folder that houses small kb size files for each media loaded into library. As long as name/location of original file stays the same, the metadata would know which file to match with.
Feature Suggestion: media metadata tags
Re: Feature Suggestion: media metadata tags
My workaround is to use third-party programs for cataloging and then import them into Resolume. But it's still not as convenient as a built-in function would be.
