Edge Blending with 6 projectors

Post by OdyPody »

Hey there Pixelhunters!

Did anybody realise a edge blending with more then 2 projectors?

i want to use 6x FHD all in one horizontal line with 2 Datapath FX4.

Is Resolume capable of a nice Result or its better to use something like VIOSO anyblend?

Maybe somebody has experience with both solutions (or an even better idea)

I found 1 Video on Edge Blending in Resolume in YT maybe somebody knows other Tutorials?

Thanks everybody!

Thanks. Didnt find it on my own....

to add a stupid noob blending question:

why you need to overlap the projections? cause its too difficult to position the projectors pixel to pixel on the edges?

and why then 15% and not mb just 5%? same reason? too difficult?

It really depends also on your projectors, the surface, the environment and it's lighting and your material. Some combination can easily be just stacked together, but sometimes you need to overlap and blend them. Not only the image but also the colors, etc. can be different. I always try to do most of it in the projectors themselfs if they have that option and then finesse it in arena. Best just to take the time to experiment, especially with the projectors, but really helps is to have projectors that really are really black when they are off like the DLP

Can it be that this problem with Laser projectors got smaller compared to Halogen ones? as the colour temperature through lifetime and brightness change cause of lamp aging is not existing anymore? when you have some new laser projectors shouldnt it be the exact same? (at least in most cases).

So we will have to see and maybe we can even be lucky and dont need any blending.

At the moment i do a test installation in smaller size but with LED projectors. (LG HF65LA) sadly no roof mounting options exsiting on the market for this model.

we will use UST Laser Projectors (Epson EB 775F) with the fitting Epson mounts in the final installation on a extra built flat surface.
