Crossfade between buses separately on each output?

Post by Haraldurius »

Hey Resolumers!

I am new to Arena, so excuse me if I got this wrong, but it seems to me that there is no possibility of having more than one crossfader in one project? I have two projector outputs both showing video clips and I would ideally want to crossfade between clips on each screen, but separately. so that I do not fade from Bus 1 to Bus 2 (A to B) in both groups simultaneously, but that I am able to just crossfade on one screen while the other output remains the same. In my project, I have assigned/mapped the two projectors, one to either of tho two different groups I have made with two layers in each, so that projector 1 shows group 1 with layers 1 and 2 and projector 2 shows group 2 with layers 3 and 4.
I do see that a workaround is fading down the video channel so that the layer "below" gradually becomes visible, but two crossfaders would make it a lot easier, is this in any way possible?

Thank you so much in advance for your reply and thank you for a, in my experience so far, intuitive and amazing program! :D :)

All the best

If you only use two layers in your group, then mapping the opacity fader of the top layer in your group will work essentially the same as a crossfader. If you want, you could also map the fader of the layer underneath to the same control, but invert the values. Then they both respond to one fader, one will go up as the other goes down. I hope this helps you out if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask
