Hi,
My computer is plenty powerful, but for some reason, whenever I call a 3-layer column that has a Background video(dxv3) and 2 imags(that have frame generator and drop shadow effects loaded), my fps instantly drops to low 10s and the software hangs for about a quarter of a second and then it picks right back up to the 30fps that's set to the composition. I'm on the latest resolume version(7.23.2) and outputing to 2 monitors.
My setup is 1 GUI monitor, 1 2048x640 led panel and 1 1080p TV. When I blackout the effects, I don't get this frame drop. I tried the same composition on a mac studio M1 max and it's smooth with all the effects loaded.
My specs:
Intel core i7 12700
AMD RX 7900xt 20gb VRAM
64gb RAM DDR5 4800MHz
SSD NVME 4.0 4tb
1 NZXT Capture usb capture and 1 Magewell USB capture
Windows 11 pro latest update
All I am running on this computer is resolume and no unnecessary background process besides hwinfo and I am getting less than 10% usage on either my GPU and CPU. The temps are also low 50s Celsius.
Huge FPS Drop when playing a column with frame generator plugin
Re: Huge FPS Drop when playing a column with frame generator plugin
What kind of images are these?
Big resolution jpeg, or png can be heavy to decode.
Converting those to DXV could help.

Re: Huge FPS Drop when playing a column with frame generator plugin
The BG is a DXV3 loop and the 2 pips are capture cards. I created another column without any video, only the capture cards and I get exctly the same issue. This issue only goes away when I deactivate the plugins. This same compostion doesn't give me the same issue on a mac.
