please please please, improve the way the slideshow works (picture folder), so many people asked for it in the past and we haven't seen any improvement in the last releases. There are many vjs who use a lot of stills in their sets and a better pictures menagement would be fantastic for them.

Great News! The bpm feature is the bomb!
And as for the the DMX functionality, hopefully it won't clutter the interface but it doesn't look as if it will, it looks like a assignable module. Being able to control what the lights are doing is a plus as it could give Vj's overall control of a crucial ambient visual element...

Could you clarify the sending DMX features possible with flash - also, do you see Resolume being able to totally control all lighting - and if not, why not?

also, it would be nice to be able to assign a fade in/out to every slot... for example, you trigger a clip and it start playing with a fade from black/white. It should quite easy to implement.

Hay I currently use another machine running dmx through martin lightjocky. to control the lighting side of my show, currently all linked up through an overly complex midi set up between v4, resolume with react and my LJ Machine. i am really looking forward to this advancement. All the lighting manufacturers at the moment are pushing media servers. Glad too see things coming from vj side, towards bridging the gap. You should check out a local Australian company http://www.enttec.com for cheap DMX interfaces, as I doubt many people will want to fork out the cash for hogPC or Lightjocky.
One question will you have a dmx in function to record show design from a design software that can be triggered from RES, ie using an offline visualisation software to design plots and recording the dmx signal into RES. Also if there is DMX will you be able to use it trigger and control resolume? ie, say I want a blue wash can just trigger a blue wash in lighting app and have it trigger blue filter in resolume through DMX addressing.
Massive fan of your work, just one small upgrade request would it be possible to make the scroll up and down arrow keys, while going through files, midi assignable as I find that is the only thing I use my keyboard for anymore, and it would be good to do away with keyboard all together.
Being someone who controls lighting and video simultaniously at the moment, I am very, very excited about this next step for resolume. Now i just need to get one of my musical colaberators to learn abelton and away we go.
Just an example I have snow machines in my club that are controled by dmx, if I can make a flash movie of snow falling that triggers the snow machines and I can increase the volume of the machines while increasing volume on screen it would be a truely amazing experiance.

We have build in support for the enttec openDMX usb box allready, also artnet is available, we will implement more interfaces if there are enough requests to do this.

not exacltly shure what you mean by this but you can compare the DMX implementation (the recieving part) to the way midi works now. you simply assign different functions in resolume to dmx signals.

request noted ;-)

yes this is exactly the kind of thing that we envision people to make with the DMX sending capabilities of Resolume ;-) we would shule like to see stuff like this! it will make the whole experience so much more immersive!

Just another little request for rgb+/- on each layer, if your going to add dmx, being able to mix the colour to match the lights is vital! If its incorpoarated into the pipe line instead of through freeframe it would be more efficient, you could right click to the rgb enable buttons for the sliders?

DMX

I have got the Martin developers looking into it. We really just need Resolume to read DMX 512 values coming in via one of these cards from an external source (ie. Pearl/ IPC/ Lightjockey).
Let me know when a Beta version is available for testing.
