Automated Video Opacity Adjustment

Weekend time is for experimenting.

I hope you understand what I mean, as I'm not really familiar with the basics of Avenue. My language is German, and the software is set up accordingly. I've often noticed that Google Translate sometimes produces nonsense. English isn't my strong suit.

I've added numerous cameras to Layer 5, which all alternate randomly.

Of course, the Video Opacity adjustment on Layer 5 must be set to 100%.

Now, I've added numerous effects to Layer 3, and these are linked to Layer 5 as inputs.

However, these effects are independent and look best when the Video Opacity adjustment on Layer 5 is set to zero.

My question is: Is there a way to automate this as soon as I activate an effect on Layer 3?

Conversely, what's almost more important to me is that dark cameras don't work well for streaming, and I want to automate Avenue as much as possible.

Perhaps there's a macro command for the Akai APC40 MKII or for Companion in conjunction with the Streamdeck to adjust the video fader accordingly. With the Akai, it's obviously quick, but I've also forgotten to increase the video fader again, and I don't constantly check the monitors.

I'd move my effects layer above the camera layer. That way, you don't have to touch the cameras, when doing effects.

Are there specific effects that you want to adjust the opacity for, or does this apply to all effects on Layer 3?

I think I know what you mean. However, I want to leave the inserted cameras completely untouched and raw (except for zoom, scaling, etc.).
Yes, I could set the effects to layer 5 and the cameras to layer 4. But I don't see the point for my purposes right now.
I start by clicking on any camera, and it runs in random mode, switching between them continuously.

In the stream, I have the cameras in their pure form, and if I want to add effects, I start any effect that also switches in random mode. But then I have to set the video input level of the cameras (layer 5) to zero, regardless of whether the effects are above or below the cameras. The effects are always routed directly to layer 5 because otherwise, for example, I wouldn't see any masking effects. (I should mention that these are sorted effects that only work this way.) But I'm happy to be proven wrong. As I said, I'm a total beginner and my English is terrible.

But now to my successes, because I managed to get it working with Companion. I love this tool almost as much as Avenue.

I can actually trigger an OBS scene change with just one button press on the Stream Deck using Elgato's multitool. With Companion's button editor, I've added a "Layer Master Change script" that allows me to dim/adjust the video output (opacity) of the desired layer to any value.
Of course, it also integrates layers, clips, and compositions.

This saves me a lot of concentration trying to find or press the right knobs/faders and buttons on the Akai APC40 MKII while streaming.

It takes a bit of work to program, but the finished script and the one-button examples are really fun to use.


This gives you almost unlimited possibilities and also saves you from having to make a lot of unnecessary scene adjustments in OBS, and I still have many Stream Deck buttons unassigned (LOL).

Ich glaube zu wissen was du meinst. Jedoch möchte ich die eingefügten Cams völlig unberührt und ROH lassen.(Außer zoom, skalieren etc.)
Ja könnte die Effekte ebene 5 und die Cam`s ebene 4 setzen. Sehe aber im Moment für meine Verwendung keinen Sinn darin.
Ich starte ja mit ein klick auf irgendeiner Cam und es läuft im Zufallsmodus wechselnd immer weiter.

Habe im Stream die Cam`s pur und wenn ich dann Effekte dazu haben möchte, starte ich dann irgendeinen Effekt die dann ebenfalls im Zufallsmodus wechseln. Nur dann muss ich dabei den Videoeingangsregler von den Cam`s (ebene 5) auf null setzen. Egal ob die Effekte über oder unter den Cam´s sind. Die Effekte sind dabei auch immer direkt zur ebene 5 geroutet weil ich sonnst z.b null Maskeneffekte erkenne.(muss dazu sagen das es sortierte Effekte sind die nur so funktionieren) . Ich lass mich aber auch gerne eines besseren belehren. Wie gesagt totaler Anfänger und mein englisch Grotten schlecht.

Aber nun zu meinen erfolgen, denn ich habe es mit Companion hinbekommen. Ich liebe dieses Tool fast so viel wie Avenue.
Ich habe tatsächlich die Möglichkeit mit nur einem Buttondruck am Streamdeck unter Verwendung des Multitool`s von Elgato, einen OBS Szenenwechsel und mit dem Buttoneditor von Companion unter anderem eingefügten "Layer Master Change skript" der es mir ermöglicht dabei die Videoausgabe (Deckkraft) vom der gewünschten Ebene auf beliebige Werte zu dimmen/einzustellen, auszulösen.
Natürlich auch mit Ebene(n) und Clip(s) und Kompositionen Integration.
Das erspart mir jede menge Konzentration die richtigen Regler/Fader und Buttons während des Streams auf dem Akai APC40 MKII zu treffen oder betätigen.

Macht ein wenig Arbeit bei der Programmierung aber das fertige Skript und die ONE Button Exempels machen dann richtig Spaß.

Das beschert einem schier unbegrenzte Möglichkeiten und erspart auch in OBS unnötig viele Szenen-Anpassungen und ich habe noch viele Streamdeck-Tasten nicht belegt (LoL)

Der formhalber möchte ich noch erwähnen. Ja die Effekte auf ebene 3 sind alle so angelegt, dass ich Deckraft-Regulierung für alle benötige.

Ich hoffe nun das Google es gut übersetzt füge aber die deutsche Fassung diesmal mit bei.
