With the BPM function would be great also be able to automate the parameters by the number of beats, telling for example to change opacity from o to 100 after 8 beats.
With the automate function Resolume will become a serious tool for multimedia shows.

we don't know if you are still open to suggestions for the new 2.4. but if so, you should have a look at neonv2 from xplsv.com and how they realized beatmatching. it's a weak app in some cases, but in some others it's really great. you got 9 layers (you don't have to use all of them
), for each of these layers you got 16 videos/flash/3dmaxscenes/jpegs you can choose of(you can see all of them). this is like having a layer for each resolume deck and all of them are visible at once(but for that, there is no real need in resolume at all, i know- 3 layers is fine, maybe another would great). a handy thing there is the name of the file at the bottom of it's window, which would be great in res as well. now the thing is you can beatmatch each layer playing it's 16 files one after the other or randomly, which is really cool. to make things like this possible in resolume a nice thing would be a command line to say things like "switch between video ART3DV every 4th beat" for example. another great thing in this app is that you choose the opacity mode for each video, not for the layer, which canbe very powerful as well. just have a quick look at this small application, it's worth it. nevertheless, still great resolume lovers

Using a midi sequencer to beatmatch video is an old trick, suprised you guys didn't know it ; )
I've done it with Yamaha RM1X with diffrent vj soft. Upside was total hardware control of position over layers. Downside was taking that big metal thing with me.
I've got a Quasimidi Rave-o-lution 309. Could I do the same thing you mention here with that? How exactly does it work with the RM1X???
cheers
its being tested.... edwin and bart do not want to release a program that isnt stable. so it will take some time, you dont have to be rude about it.Originally posted by Anonymous

2.4 is taking a bit longer because we have totally dissected the engine to minimize the stutters some people experience on slow footage. Doing this we have made massive speed improvements (up to 20% faster) making playback much smoother.
We have improved the audio FFT analysis a LOT making it much more responsive and stable.
And as a little bonus, every effect now has a little feedback button, this enables you to apply feedback to an effect exactly how you normally set the opacity of the effects, this is a small but very powerful new feature if you like feedback & effects.
Can,t promise when it,s ready for release but we,re not too far off anymore.
