Hello everybody, it's been a while since i poked my head in here! I'm looking for an opinion about the new intel conroe core 2 duo chips (commonly called conroe) coming out. Specifically the e6600 and e6700. I have my whole life been a hard core amd fan, but now the time has come as i have been saving for some time now for a new computer. The results i've seen of benchmarks compare the e6600 to an athlon fx-60, and it wins in most categories. Here's what's shocking me - the fx-60 retails about $800-850 online. The e6600 msrp is $350... The math is simple to me, but obviously i have nothing to base a comparison with - the chip doesn't come out until july 27.
What are people experience using an fx-55,57,60 with resolume? highest frame rates and resolution? What type of benchmark stats are most comparable to what resolume would do to the cpu? If this new intel chip is as good as it says it is, for as cheap as it is, what am i going to do with all this extra money i saved?
