2.4 ffdshow.ax crash solution

Hi all... after upgrading from 2.3 to 2.4 Resolume was crashing when starting the program. From the log I could find the following info:

Access violation at address 0D498ADC in module 'ffdshow.ax'. Read of address E8F18B62 10/5/2006 11:37:09 PM

I've updated ffdshow to an october build reseting all the options and it's back online! You can updated it from

Since I'm new with Resolume, and never used much ffdshow, should I be using something else? Any config tips (it has tons)?

Hi zerotonin,
i don't know the ffdshow codec. But it's an mpeg-4 codec so it's not really suitable (performance sake) for resolume. The codecs that work best are MJPEG codecs (encode at 80%) and the Indeo codec. Cinepak works by far the fastest but the quality is bad.
