DMX matrix mode

It would be great to be able to control small matrixes using the dmx protocol

either led using rgb or washes that use cmy

the idea is to asign each pixel (maximum 170 in one dmx universe, if each pixel uses 3 channels) to a lamp or led. and then play video normally but outputing the rgb value for each pixel/lamp

for this resolume will have to calculate a low resolution version of the video fitting the matrix installation. this will requiere a bit of configuring and croping, or simply setting a 10x10 output (as display) for the matrix

that will allow you to trigger very easy videos to a video matrix without all the flash programing...

right now, to do that, you have to do a bit more actionscript programing than creative work.

a good solution would be to add a "dmx screen" to the screen setup... then on advance a setup of what color system you want to use (cmy, rbg, monochrome) and small screen to set the matrix resolution and for porting the pixel color to to the right channels.. .. so actually.. it would be like another screen and would not interfere with the dmx commands (to moving heads for example) from actionscript (as long as you send them to other dmx channels). This is great if you want to use a dmx matrix, have live video on plasma or video beamers, and control dmx moving heads and things of the sort.

Led screens are wicked, a few weeks ago we had the TodaysArt festival here in The Haque and UVA (united visual artists) were playing in a venue here and had a massive led screen.
