I use FINAL CUT PRO for all my video editing. WHat is the best way to export/compress a MAC?
HELLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP lol
How to best Export from FINAL CUT?
i havent used movs in res. but alot of people say its not very stable. might have improved recently though. on a PC its best to use an AVI codec, cause windows works well with them. and alot of people use mpgs.... SO..... if you have a look for FFmepgX, its a program that will convert file formats. export from FCP as a Quicktime movie (i think you have to make it self contained) and then in FFmpegX change the format to what you want.. probably MPEG.
i dont remember if FFmpegX does scaling, so you might have to do that on export from FCP

If you use FINAL CUT on a Mac you can do this:
Export your clips in QuickTime format with this codec:
Apple Motion JPEG-A 30FPS 320x240 Progressive (No fields) Best Quality, Internet Streaming set on: Fast start, compressed header. also, try to make your clips for short duration, 1 or 2 seconds (optional, only for loops).
in your Windows-based PC or laptop you will need to install QuickTime in order to play the clips (exported from Final Cut) in Resolume. you MUST put the '.mov' extension in your clips so windows detects that is a Quicktime movie file.
Why Motion JPEG? this is a Real-Time Codec, excellent quality, small filesize and fast to process when layering and mixing with effects.
if you want more speed no matter the quality loss, you can use the OLD SCHOOL codec known as: Cinepak., this codec is reeally faster, but the quality is poor.
