free package of videoloops

Post by emkart »

I will soon add a free package of videoloops to my website
we do have enough webspace,
the package will contain 25-30 of our own produced loops, all of them are seemless looping
average playtime of the loops : 10 sec

We are working with quicktime movies in resolume only. This works best for us, since we produce everything on Macs (Apple Shake, Apple Motion, After Effects and Maya)

As I understand you are all using different codecs, so my question is

what would be the ideal codec, quality and size for the loops in the package

640x480 indeo 5.11 (i understand a lot of ppl still do 400x300 though) - deinterlaced - key frame every frame - quality varies (i get best results at 90-95%)

that's what i use anyway - and get the best results from after extensive testing

it,s probably easiest if you encode on the mac with the mjpeg codec in quicktime and buy an mjpeg codec for the pc (morgen mjpeg or picvideo).

But if you want the best speed you should definitely convert all videos to avi files. quicktime is not as fast as avi on the pc.

how about photo jpeg 80 percent? cross-patform codec, compresses a fair bit, keeps quality, and a keyframe every frame for the fans of video scratching.
