analogue to digital conversion

hi does anybody know if such a device exists to convert analogue to digital.?
i need to record a set out of resolume to my xl1 but my xl1 only has firewire input. is there a way of sending a composite connection out of my laptop to some magic box that will convert this signal to firewire thus allowing me to export back to my camera.

a DFG firewire to video converter is all you need. Dreamtek had told me about these, and says they work well. Do a google search - i guess they are pretty expensive though.
