dispalying on another monitor

hi there im new to all this so I hope this dont sound like a stupid question.
basically I have a Sony Vaio vgn-n11H/W and I dont know how to display the output on another monitor/projector, there is no s-video lead on the laptop just a monitor port.
anyone with any ideas or info on how to do this would be great

ok i got it work but after an hour the program seems to just crash
any ideas?

which program seems to crash and in what way?

for future reference a well, it may be worth you getting a scan converter to convert vga to svideo/comp as not all projectors have vga input
