Hi there I purchased resolume 2 beta 2 recently and first off let me say how much i like it. It is awsome. However there are some things I would like to know.
1) Is there anyway to automate resolume using a software midi sequencer like cubase or reason ?
2) Are there any plans to add rewire functionality to Resolume
3) Is there an automation mode that will allow for sequential playing of clips instead of random ? Will this feature be included ?
4) Will the 4Gb file limit on export be resolved on the next release ?
5) I would like to automate the triggering of clips based on audio info. Is this possible ? Will it be possible ?
Issue : I created an account for the forum but could not login. I was pretty sure my password was correct but to be sure I used the forgot password icon. No mail was ever sent to me.

you can use anything that generates midi signals to drive resolume. so a midi-keyboard or an other computer running software that generates midi will all work.1) Is there anyway to automate resolume using a software midi sequencer like cubase or reason ?
we have looked at this but it does not make a lot of sense to build in because resoliume does not play any audio.2) Are there any plans to add rewire functionality to Resolume

Thanks so much for your quick reply and wicked software. 1 last question though.
Rewire midi is used by arkaos to automate it with a sequencer (like cubase ) on the same computer.
This is what I meant when asking about midi automation and reqire.
Is this something you might implement ?

the resolume engine (and many other vj software engine except arkaos) is build like a computergame, it always takes 100% cpu time. So it is very hard to run it together with other software. Therefore it is not a good idea to implement rewire. unless rewire can work over a network but i don,t think it does.

Yes, I think that Resolume should also be equipped with ReWire capabilities.
I have been messing with trial versions of Resolume and am very excited about the possibilities that this app can bring to our live show. Compared to all of the other VJ apps out there, in my opinion Resolume gives me more options and control to create the imagery that I am looking for!
BUT! I have a need to setup and execute triggers live while I'm also playing guitar in the band. So far, the best way of doing this is to create loops or sequences in a product like Ableton, assign the triggers to my MIDI foot controller, which can then broadcast the MIDI information to Resolume. All of this needs to happen on the same box.
To date, i see no way of Resolume being capable of doing this. Arkaos can do this ... but i don't LIKE Arkaos! WAA!
Anywho - i just wanted to put my 2 cents in there. Thought you should hear another users opinion.

there is a workaround for sending midi from one application to another on the same machine.
Have a look at MidiYoke, this is a virtiual midi driver that let's you send midi signals in between applications.
