Effects and Midi Keyboard

I have recently started using a midi keyboard with resolume 1.4 and was wondering whether you could assign the effects found in the generators browsers to the midi keyboard. It works ok with the decks. Thanks

double click on the effect, and at the bottom of the screen, you will see a keyboard and a midi box, click in the midi box, press the key, and hey presto, the effect is set to that key.

Is there a way of applying the effect to just a channel as opposed to the whole output. The manual states that you press crtl at the same time and it will apply it to only the active channel, but when using my keyboard the crtl function doesn't work?????
