mouse control

Post by spacemen »

Hi,

How do I control a video clip playback with the mouse? I want to be able to advance frames by using the mouse...

So if I move the mouse up fast, the clip frames advance fast, if I move it slow, it causes the clip to play slow. If I move it down, it plays backwards. Depending on how fast I move it and in what direction (up/down) it should cause the clip to follow my mouse movement.

This would allow me to "scratch" a video clip like a record.

thanks

Yes, that is actually what my question was about; Resolume. Is there a way to do it without dragging the playhead? To drag the playhead you have to hold the mouse button which makes scratching a bit difficult. Plus you can't scratch UP/DOWN you can only do left/right motion.

You can achieve a scratching effect by using the < and > buttons to change the playback direction which can look quite realistic. Not sure what you mean about up/down motion though unless you are talking about the opacity (visibility) of a layer which can be changed with the slider next to each layer's settings and controls. To control this properly without the mouse you really need a midi controller with knobs or sliders.

Agree with Manwell. Will be much more pleasant to use a MIDI controller. Have you got one?
