Wireless Webcams in DJ Booth

Post by F1LT3R »

Hey Guys,

Just looking into some low-light wireless, or CAT5 cameras I can put in the DJ booth to mix into the visuals.

Anyone got experience with this? I have been looking at "wireless webcams" but none of the documentation for them specifies wether they work with Resolume :P

They also dont specifiy weather they work with Messenger or Skype etc.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Al

ja, have been looking into this myself.

Security cameras are the cheapest option ( at least in South Africa ) and can give you 1024 x 768 at 24 fps in full colour, prices at R1500 ( +/- US$ 200-250 )

They have USB2 feed from the reciever, and so the input is not any different from a normal webcam.

Wireless cams can be a problem. At least here in Finland most of the cash registers and credit card readers at the bar are usually working over wlan. The cameras have usually more powerful tarnsmitters than wlan transmitters and even if the cam is not on the same channel, usually they kill the cash registers.
