Matrox Dualhead2Go + Resolume

Post by TJ »

Hi,
Is the Matrox DualHead2Go compatible with Resolume? I want to use 2 projectors, 1 output video and 1 showing Resolume's interface on the second projector and still keeping Resolume's interface working on the screen of my laptop. So in short, 2x the interface and 1x output. Is such a screensetup configurable within Resolume?

I think this this won't work, but i don´t have one so correct me if i´m wrong:
you can connect 2 beamers to your laptop with DH2G. but windows config panel won't see them as 2 seperate displays but as one big widescreen:

And because resolume and the resolume output are 2 seperate fullscreen apps (you can't drag or drop them). you can only select one of them to go to the dh2g.

Btw i´m not sure if resolume support the widescreen resolutions (2560 x 1024 or lower) used by dh2g for the video output.
edit: I don't think there is any option to output and the resolume interface and the resolume output to 2 external monitor with a laptop.
with a pc you can do this with a vga splitter for the resolume interface, and connecting the secondary connector from your vga card for the video output.

But the Dualhead2Go supports Clone/Mirror mode according to Matrox:
---------------------------------------------------------------
Is "clone" or "mirror" mode possible with DualHead2Go?
A clone or mirror mode causes the same image to be output onto both monitors. Although DualHead2Go users will be capable of using VESA resolutions in clone mode, there is no official support for this feature.
---------------------------------------------------------------
So there should be a way to undock Resolume's output and drag it to another monitor/beamer don't you think so. Dualhead2Go is working with PowerDesk so setting up different screens should be easy as hell, i just wonder if Resolume supports these functions too.

Hi there,
there's a way to use the Matrox DH2Go and Resolume 2.4.
I checked it while I did a research for a theater, which liked to use two projectors for the stage design. But you need a very high performance machine for it.

This procedure has to be done only once.
1. switch on the second monitor(s) - set 2048x768 for the matrox box
2. start Resolume
3. enter "screen setup"
4. switch on the second out and change the process resolution to 400x300 output resolution to 800x600. (we need that later)
5. click "apply", "close" and quit Resolume
6. Use the Explorer to go to "My Documents"
(in german it's called "Eigene Dateien")
or "C:\Documents and Settings\%Your Username%\"
7. enter the "Resolume 2.4" folder and enter the "settings" folder
8. there you will find a file called "screensetup.xml". do a right click with the mouse and "Open with..." -> "Editor"
9. search for "800" and replace it with "2048"
10. search for "600" and replace it with "768"
11. Save the changes and close the file.
12. Now we have to put a write protection on the file
-> right mouse click -> properties -> set the checkbox "write protect" under attributes -> Save the changes and click "OK"

13. Start Resolume...

Without the write protection on screesetup.xml Resolume would overwrite the settings after the first change in the screen settings.

If you want to use other settings delete or move the "screensetup.xml" from the "settings" directory.

ups ... I forgot one more point:

After "13. Start Resolume..." I left:
14. Open the "Screen Setup" and click on "Fullscreen" for the second output. Click on "Apply" and "Close"

The footage should have the "2x XGA"-width to be displayed correctly.

Hi everyone!
I have a gig next month I was thinking to buy a matrox triple head 2 go to connect three projectors to make a dynamic stage cenario. Does it also work with resolume? Changing the file called "screensetup.xml" refered by "buntermacher" works? (I want to use a 800x600 output for each projector so I have to use a total resolution of 2400 x 600)
And for last and not so important, usually a use two laptop's connect to a Panasonic AVE-5, can I connect the output of my video mixer to a scan converter to the matrox triple head 2 go or I have to connect directly by vga one laptop to the matrox?
Please help, because will have to spend some money for this and I would like to have sure if everything works.
Thanks in advance!
