exporting SD videos (dv 50fps interlaced) from final cut

Post by kalinta »

hi there!

I'm currently producing some real-video material for using it in resolume and I'm working with final cut pro.

as I read in this topic viewthread.php?tid=2833#pid14019 , using "quicktime motion jpeg a" is a good solution (my resolume won't open up h.264 or other movs).

so far, I had no problems with HD video material, but when I'm trying to export SD dv pal 50fps interlaced as motion jpegs, I have problem with the interlacing. I've tried all combinations of field preferences (one field, even, odd), but nothing works. I know, this is rather a final cut problem, but still, I need to know about it in the resolume-context (exporting the SD material in other mov-formats is no problem).

as I've found out, the problem might be, that motion jpeg saves every interlaced field as a jpeg and thus the quality is bad.

so, does anybody have a tip for me, how I can best render my SD material from final cut?

thx in advance,
kalinta

You need to have FinalCut de-interlace the footage. I,m no expert with FinalCut so hopefully someone can post a reply and explain how to do this exactly.
