Boss DR880 5X4 Matrix Midi control

I recently started using res- A great program, I noticed that alot of people need a MIDI controller with a 5X4 matrix for triggering clips.

I have a boss DR880 drum machine that i use, its IDEAL! you have a 5X4 matrix pad setup, with 6 different banks! also Resolume will sync itself to the DR880's Tempo. you can also program drum patterns to trigger clips in a certain sequence. opening up a world of possibilities.

this machine might be a little expensive if you just need MIDI control, I bought mine for Â£400 a few years back, but they currently go for around Â£250 new.

I also have a Oxygen 8 keyboard, and a NUVJ, i use all 3 to control different parameters.

I woulf find intersting if you could share with us your setup especially the use you foun for the NUVJ ( since it was desingned for a specific program)

Well, to be honest, i am still in the process of getting it all sorted out. i bought the NUVJ last week, but was really dissapointed with the software, NUVJ is actually just a MIDI controller, just like a DJ would use, all my other MIDI devices wete actually bought for music, as i have a small home studio.

i know some VJ's rate the oxygen 8, but i get confused when i see just a bunch of black and white keys

with the NUVJ i use the two faders for ch 1 and 2's opacity, andthe x-fader for ch 3. the scratch wheels for scratch, the pads for triggering effects, and the rotaries for changing effeect parameters. i also use the rotaries of the oxygen 8, but not the keys.

like i said, i'm still sorting it out, but i am pretty happy with the DR880's buttons. works well.

i will update this when i got it all working sweet

still I am currently wainting for a bcf2000 with less money I belive I will get a satisfatory solution , if you want to I can give some feed cak afterwards =)

Thats Not a bad controller, and pretty cheap! like i said, i already had the DR880, one thing i like about it is that i can sync the tempo to it. i could do with some more faders and rotaries for FX. using 3 different controllers can get confusing...

Feedback would be appreciated, i was actually looking for a similar device for use with my music software (Ableton Live) so i wouldn't mind buying something like that anyway...

for audio ..cheap try the BCD2000 ( medium quality tough )
