Few problems that i cant figure out...

Post by messhead »

First of all, im using a VMX VJ and have assigned the keys to where i want and everthing is really good. But when i load an effect up, it instantly goes to 100% on and i have to turn it off myself, even if the faders are down all the way. Whys this happening?

Another thing is i've recorded with the M-JPEG Codec but nothing will play the files? What will? and not GOM Player please, it caused me too many problems with my setup for some reason :(

i have the VMX aswell
The reason this is happening is because when loading a new effect, resolume put's it always on 100% resolume doesn't use or remeber the midi setting from the previous effect, that was in the same slot. and because you didn't change the fader the VMX won't send out a value.
Only when you change the fader or pressing that button in the midle (don't know how it's called, the button that send all messages again) it wil update.
Sollution could be to assign the alt function to a midi button as well, this way the effects always starts at 0% (still not responding to the fader.)
Or to ask Bart or Edwin to solve this problem :)

If you can play videos wih other codecs it would probably be a problem with the installation of M-jpeg codec

You can save the effects settings with the little disk to the right of the opacity control next to the "B" (blue channel) icon. After you save it, it will load with that settings.

USE: I have all effects saved with opacity 0%. so before I load it I have the vmx fader all the way down. Load the effect, and then move the fader.

The botton in the middle of your codanova is a "snapshot" it sends midi data of all the buttons, faders, knobs, etc.
