Live Photoshoot projection

Post by corunography »

Heyy there,

So I've been hired to do a live photoshoot in a club. The photographer will hand off a memory card to me, and I am to project the images taken throughout the club.

I am trying to consider the best way to accomplish this. Seems I will need to utilize photoshop to resize the images. Though when I import image files in Resolume, it seems to get pretty buggy. What image format seems to work the best for you in Resolume?

Has anyone tired to do this before on 1 computer? Trying to determine if I need to find another application for this gig. I want something pretty automated so i can run a show, and edit pix in photoshop in the mean time.

Any ideas? :)

ive done this before with after effects, just throw all the pics in to a new composition, select all the layers, choose sequence layers from the keyframe assistant and choose the output size of the final render. job done.

Oh nice! I didn't realize after effects had automation for a simple slideshow! I am going to try this and see if Resolume will lockup when I try to render out the slideshow. Have you done this on 1 computer before?

THANKS!

Or if you're good at programming you can write your own little app..
I know that with Quartz Composer it's quite easy to do that stuff.

Hi,

We use a lot of images of "live" photoshoots during our session, but we always use another laptop to render (photoshop) the images into a format i can use in resolume. Rendering the images on the same computer would use to much cpu as the originals are hi-res.

p.s. i never render them into avi's but always use the image folder directly. We do make several folders of the photoshoots.

Hey, thanks for your suggestions.

I think I found a solution, that I will test out next week.

I found a freeframe plugin called Still Life by Syzygz. It produces dissolving slideshows from a specified folder. I figure I will upload the images from a memory card, run an action script through the images and save them in the specified folder, and they are automatically imported into the show. I tested it for about a half hour at home, and no lockups. *fingers crossed*

Why not skip resizing pictures by simply setting the camera resolution to 640x480 pixels. Then just dragging pictures into resolume decks
