Pioneer SVM-1000 AV Mixer

Post by bart »

In this Pioneer SVM-100 AV mixer promotion video with Sander Kleinenberg I noticed two laptops in the back running Resolume. This makes me wonder about their workflow. I guess not all video sources come from the DVJs, some are just fed into the AV mixer from Resolume and combined with audio from a CDJ. This way the VJs supply the video streams and the DJ mixes this. What do you think about this workflow? Is it something you would support or do you want to be in control of the final video mix?

DVJ out ->Pioneer AV -> {Matrix->V4->Screens}*

Don´t ever let a Dj control your Screens. He wouldn´t let you control the Master Volume....

Well It is obvious that this is one amazing piece of machinery, however history has shown that multi platform equipement is somewhat unpractical.Take for instance mobile phones all have cameras but ppl still like to have a "real" camera, even though it was predicted by several tech analysts that camera phones could deal a harsh blow to he digital camera devices, very wrong.
I think that is is too much for just one person, either you do sound or video, if you dedicate too much attencion to one the other will be left behind. I personally can´t believe that this will shove us aside.

Tottally agree, where I usually perform the resident Dj tells me some of the tracks he will be using and if I have the Videoclip for it I'll be sure to play it ( Calabria is allways a killer =) ) so in a sense I kinda already do that, :roll: well.... not rly but close :D
