Problem controlling FX parameter from Midi

Post by wrybread »

I'm having a trouble controlling the FX parameters. I'm new to Resolume, so please bear with me if I get the terminology wrong.

For example, if I play a clip and put the effect "Adjust blue level" in the first global effect bank, should I be able to control with that with a midi mapping to "effect slot 1 param 1"? Currently I get no reaction with either that or param2 - param4, for any effect.

I've also had no luck using "Active effect slot param1".

Am I missing something?

Also, is there a way to assign effects to the layers themselves? I see in the midi mapping a parameter called "Effect param 1:layer1", which makes me think it is, but I can only see how to apply effects globally or to an individual channel.

Thanks for any help.

Adjust blue level doens't have a param to control only an opactiy (which can be controlled via midi - use 'Opacity effect slot1' etc

As you say params for other effects don't work chewck you are using a Midi 'controler'? (rotary or fader) not a note (button)

Effect param 1:layer1 - controls param 1 of the effect on the channel assigned to layer 1

What MIDI controller are you using?

Thanks, that was exactly the problem: I thought the opacity was parameter 1. Works perfectly now.

I'm using an M-Audio MidAir25 (keyboard) for now but my Behringer BCR2000 should be here any day....
