Post by ROdrigueZ »

Hi everyone I pla on buying a videocamera, for live use and clip prodution.
I am looking for a camera with decent image in low ligt conditions, and that if necessary can double as a set recorder for the performances.
my budget is up to 300 euros not much I know but for now is all that i can spare =)

Any suggestions?

if you are looking for a camera with an av input to record sets from resolume you will probably have to go down the 3ccd route as they dont make cameras with av inputs on 1ccd cameras anymore . (they used to make them with high end 1ccd cameras) however second hand you could probably get something like Sony DCR HC96. r you looking for broadcast quality camera though? you probably wont get one for 300quid though

a camera that is good in lowlight is always a good but rare find imo. personally i use an xl1 which isnt the best in low light but good for production of clips .its not practical for use as a live relay camera in clubs as its a bit big so something smaller and more camcorder like coupled with a little tripod from aldi is grand .the xl1 doesnt have an av input only firewire in and av out but you can purchase digital to analog converter. but if you are running composite /svideo out of resolume into a camera with av inout then you wont need one
