Hello.
I have a pinnacle 500-USB device and I use it to capture real time video into Resolume to mix with other graphic content while I work.
If the camera is turned off for any reason and/or the cable is exchanged for another camera in a different location, it gets virtually impossible to me to resume the video capture.
Resolume seems to freeze the last frame captured and do not refresh with the new signal connected/resumed.
Even removing the thumbnail from the video layer and trying to reconnect to the capture device doesn´t work. I get the same previous frozen image and just black as output.
The only solution so far is to restart Resoume - then it refreshes the input signal.
This is so annoying.
Is there a way to force Resolume to refresh the incoming video source signal?
Thanks in advance,
Paulo
Input Video Source - stop / resume issue

Oh my lord.
Already 35 views and not a single clue/suggestion on how to solve this?
Bart? Edwin?

Re: Input Video Source - stop / resume issue
i think the answer to this is .....
no
resolume detects input sources on startup.

Re: Input Video Source - stop / resume issue
Perhaps the crazy solution for this is to minimize Resolume and start a fresh instance.
Grab the new signal and then just quit the first running instance.
Will it crash? ; )

4 years later, this is still the case.
A 'rescan' function without having to restart Resolume would be a life-saver

Re: Input Video Source - stop / resume issue
we had the same problem whith a blackmagic intensity shuttle, but just when we used it for hdmi capture.
anytime between 5 and 15 minutes after starting resolume the image just freezes.
to get the image back it worked sometimes to delete the source and just drag it in from the sources list again.
best, bildwerk

Wow.. that was an old post ; )
I have moved to the MAC side and the Pinnacle is not compatible, so I had to find another video grabbing solution.
Now I work with (I can´t recall the name of it) an Video Composite USB Grabbing adapter. It works fine on the MAC side, but I still have the very some problems when turning camera off and back on again.
I haven´t found a solution so far. Perhaps a more professional device would work better.

Re: Input Video Source - stop / resume issue
how about to plug a video device with in/output (like videomixer, recorders, etc..., maybe a simple splitter should do the work) between camera and capture card... so the signal from the video-device is always send and gets the signal from camera if it's turned on!

Re: Input Video Source - stop / resume issue
For everyone else that might be an option. Good idea, althoug using a simple splitter usually means loss of video signal quality.
I specifcally use captured video camera feeds only at certain moments during a night. And only at those very specific moments I am allowed to connect my system to the camera. The camera is simply not there - in range to connect.

Re: Input Video Source - stop / resume issue
with a splitter etc. it should not matter if you disconnect the cable and reconnect...
or there is something i don`t figure out on your setup
