keyboard and midi mapping lost

Is that a bug?
After closing and reloading avenue, the direct keyboard mapping and the direct midi mapping are lost. The contextual mappings work. As I can see the contextual mappings are stored as XML-file in the preferences folder, for the direct mappings no XML-files exist.

just an idea: maybe they are stored in the composition and you have to save the composition to save the direct mapping

Unfortunately the mapping gets lost though the composition is saved.

Direct Mapping belongs to the Composition. So Direct Mappings are stored in your composition file.
This Direct Mapping is saved when you save your composition.

So how do I really save a composition?
When I click "composition -> save as", a dialog like the composition settings dialog appears. When I click "save", the composition is listed in the right corner in the compositions tab. When I now leave the program and restart it, the last opened composition opens and the direct mappings are gone. This happens also when I manually open the composition where I stored the mappings, by double clicking it in the compositions tab in the right screen corner.

So am I doing something wrong?

Hi Flo,
You are not doing anything wrong, save is save and should store the direct mappings in your composition.
I just gave it a test but it seems to be working here without problems. What elements did you assign shortcuts to? Maybe that helps me track down the problem.

i have the same problem.

i assigned the layers with F1, F2, F3,... , saved the composition and after opening resolume again the mapping is always lost.
but the mapping of "clear layer" (alt+F1, alt+F2,...) remains.

Like Luz I assigned the layers with F1,F2,F3, I assigned the bpm tap and the resync button. These mappings were lost. With direct MIDI mapping I also assigned the layers 1-3 and the layer opacity sliders. The slider mapping remained, the layer mapping was lost.

I just want to know if you can confirm the loss of some direct keyboard and midi mappings as described in the earlier posts and whether it's on the to do list. It would be a real handicap if that won't be fixed.
