Limitations in clips placement

Post by aeonscope »

I searched the forum and didn't find this issue mentioned anywhere, so I want to know this:
Is it possible in Resolume 3, for example, to add clips from the lowest row into layer 2 (instead just in layer 1, like it is now)? I'm talking about this:

I think that it would be extremely limiting if this can't be done, since that wasn't a problem with Resolume 2.
This way we have a lot less freedom in playing videos, we have to calculate where to place the clips or re-arrange them all the time if, for example, we need some video that's on the bottom row to be played as layer 3 (on top).

I'm afraid that, besides all the excellent features Res3 has, I'll have to stick with Res2 because of this (if it's not changed in the final version)

it already does this, you even have different ways of doing it. look at the "clip target" option.

Oh I see. Thanks for the fast reply! :D
Does this mean I'll have to change the "clip target" to "active layer" on each clip separately? I guess the best option would be to add an option to do this globally, on all clips on the selected deck.

the setting in "clip" affects individual clips.
the setting in "composition" affects everything in the...... composition
