Timeline Cursor and Brackets.

Post by ni-cad »

EDD: this post was way too long :D

In short
The dashboard position marker (I'm going to call it the "Cursor") and it's brackets (the two small triangular brackets to it's left and right) are interfearing with each other. (This is in the dashboards progress bar thats simular to a the timeline).

I'm sorry to hear that you have problems with the sliders, but i can't seem to reproduce the problems you have. When does this happen, you allways had this problem or was it introduced in the latest beta. Are you using video, audio or av clips?

Hi edwin, Im am having an unhappy time with Resolume for the most part because of underuns on my laptop, sorry to have gotten so worked up, it's a little difficult to tell what's a bug and whats just a shortfalling of my laptop.

Anyway yes I had the same problems in the previous beta as well, I'm using AVI files with no audio loaded. Basicaly you can't grab the brackets when they're positioned directly below the cursor. Here's a step by step.

Load clip.

Assign a clip parameter to the dashboard for example In clip properties under the video dropdown menu in position x dropdown and select dashboard.

Drag the clip position cursor on the scale bar to half way.

Now drag the right hand scale bracket to the center also, so as the bracket is touching the position cursor, then release your hold on the bracket with the mouse.

Now try and move the bracket back to it's right hand position, it won't move, the bracket is some how obscured by the cursor.

I've had the same problem but the other way around with the cursor getting obscured by the bracket and not being able to move that either, this has happened even in the last 5 min's that I've been re-tracing my steps for this post.

Yes the Brackets can be quite annoying, i know what you mean. We'll try to fix this behaviour.
But i thought you meant that the clips woudl stop playing when you move the sliders, that's what you said. But you edited your post so it probabbly it's not the issue.
We'll make it work better.

Sorry yeah the clips wern't bombing they were just re positioning them selves off screen, the cursor isn't freezing either, it's just getting obscured by the brackets and vice versa.
