URGENT: Cant save keyboard settings

I've tried eveything i can think of....

i have set my keyboard prefs then set the preferences file to read only, both before and after quitting resolume. Always when i restart resolume my keyboard preferences have returned to their default settings.

In fact i have never once seen the preferences file change. It says that the file has been updated each time i change my prefs but it never shows any visible sign of having changed.... always 9.99 kb.

Please can you offer some other solution? This is such a ridiculous bug! I rarely need to change my keyboard prefs but tomorrow i have an installtion tomorrow which requires A LOT of changes.... i cant keep changing them every time i start resolume.

Windows xp sp2 on MBP running bootcamp.
intel core 2 duo 2.4
3gig ram
nvidea geforce 8600M GT

search forum if you are using resolume 2. there is an solution.after saving your preferences change the preference file to read only, something like this.

I found a fix for this problem. Here are the steps I followed:

1. Open Resolume 2.4
2. Set up the keys the way you like them
2. Exit Resolume 2.4
3. Open Windows Explorer and go to "My Documents\Resolume 2.4\settings"
4. Mark the file "preferences.xml" as Read-only
5. Start up Resolume 2.41, preferences should be loaded correctly now
6. Whip the tears of joy off your face


Not a perfect solution, but not too bad either. I hope it helps.

I was having the same problem, I found this, haven't tested it yet, but will try it tomorrow once I get my rig back together. Hope reposting this saves someone else more searching.

Well, I just tried it and it didn't work for me, VJForums has a thread with similar experiences.

Seeing as I was looking at Brome's Midi translator software anyway, due to Resolume's decision to make a bunch of buttons I want Midi only (RGB bypasses, mainly), and their apparent lack of support for a full size keyboard's 10-key pad (where I want to map the RGB bypasses), I may just use the Midi Translator as a total solution to the preferences file not saving.

Dear Resolume people: I love you guys a lot. That said, this seems like a very basic thing to fix, I shouldn't have to spend another $60 on software that allows me to use the buttons in your software. I would be ecstatic if you guys released a final edition of 2.41 that fixed this, and made all the Midi keys keyboard mappable, and read all the keys on full size keyboards hooked up via PS/2.
