So I used Avenue for a gig on Saturday...an all-nighter, 9p to 9a. MacBook Pro OS X 10.5.6, dual 2.53, 4GB ram, 512MB VRAM. In short, I was mostly very happy. The stability problem from the Beta version is indeed fixed; I didn't crash once all night. All in all it's a great piece of software. Great job guys.
I did have a few problems. The biggest problem, which has been discussed before, is the massive frame drop when changing decks. Each change results in a near stoppage of the output. I had to switch to the DVJ every time I changed decks. Putting fewer clips in each deck isn't the solution...I don't want to navigate 30 decks if I can condense it to 10. Another problem was that MIDI suddenly lost its mapping three times during the night. The mapped keys would just stop working and need to be remapped, and in doing so the same notes would register differently within the software.
But like I said, great app.
