2.41 barfs on startup (pictures)

Post by Blizzart »

Hi guys, and thanks for such a nice piece of code! Resolume is by far my favorite of them all.
However, now comes the time for tough questions. ;)

I've been observing this behavior in the past (tried Resolume on a lot of different hardware/software breeds), and, although it didn't happen on all setups, it always took some tweakery to get past the problem on a particular setup, once it started appearing. I used to associate this problem with some programs that had been loaded prior to Resolume start, or with some codecs being installed. On one machine, Resolume would run normally once per reboot, then start exhibiting this pattern. Random things seemed to help, or I wasn't digging deep enough to the very root.
Anyway, now that I got this new machine, I can't seem to get 2.41 to start properly at all (damn shame, yeah). :(

Above's what happens when I start the program. This error pops up a few times, "trying again" doesn't do anything, while hitting Cancel or Continue yields similar results: eventually the interface will start, but instead of loading things, it just displays empty slots everywhere. One very characteristic detail is depicted below:

Once you see the dotted line, you know you have to close the app, since nothing will load at all, guaranteed. Can't even pick a different drive, for that matter.
Here's what the log has to say about it (I assume this is where the problem occurs, since there are no other problems noted in the log):
init: previewer 4/2/2009 18:41:58
init: decks 4/2/2009 18:41:58
Not enough storage is available to process this command.

Now "storage" is a bit vague, but I don't suppose it has anything to do with the actual amount of free disk space on my C: drive, since I have about 150Gigs free! :lol:

Here's some setup data:
h/w: HP Pavilion tablet, AMD Turion-based (X2 ZM-80), 3G RAM, plenty of harddisk (SATA, just in case), ATI Radeon HD 3200 (0x9612) with 700Mb onboard memory;
s/w: 32-bit Windows XP SP3, DirectX 9.0c (4.09.000.0904), legit Resolume 2.41 :)

Any suggestions? I'd gladly help you with debugging, so if you want me to run any scenarios - just let me know. I'm not ready for Avenue yet (which seems to run just fine, btw), so I'd really appreciate some help.

Thanks!
