hi,
i try to use avenue on windows xp prof. with my asio interface, fireface 400 from rme audio.
i can select it in the audio preferences and playback works on all channels.
but i can't get the external sound input to work.
am i missing something ?
any help appreciated

no external sound with asio interface
Re: no external sound with asio interface
We have not implemented playback of sound from external cards yet, external input can (so far) only be used for FFT audio analysis.

I don't know if this is the answer for you, but the input fader knob is set to 0 when you select fft audio analysis, and you have to raise it to get it to respond.

Have you selected your External Audio FFT Input in the Preferences/audio window?

With Asio routing I had some similar problems.. the routing of my soundcard (EMU0404) was by default not set up with the right ASIO channels to pass through the line in signal. (I use microphone and external synths to trigger my FFT analysis)
My solution: Open the DSP patchmix (my soundcardsoftware), Yours has probably it's own software...
I just added 2 asio channels and a "send" from my line ins to these asio channels. You can probably also route internal wave playback to asio channels....
Recording the sound inside Avenue is only possible with the "wormhole2" plugin. I'm still working on a simple, step by step manual for that, maybe this weekend

Re: no external sound with asio interface
hi,
i have found a working solution:
if i set the audio device in avenue to the windows sound device, in my case soundmax,
i am able to select the input channels of my asio interface and get a signal.
this is not perfect, because i can't use my asio interface for playback this way
and avenue is not using the asio drivers thus lateny of the incoming signal is high.
