Hi,
I've tried everything I can think of but still when I launch the software, it crashes. This is on a new macbook pro. I was able to get it to work one time by playing with the output/input system sound. I use SoundFlower (cycle'74) and I think it may be the issue but I can't confirm that. I set up my output to be headphone and my input to be line in which is the default config for my laptop.
However, in the console I see the error message:
(everything else is succesful)
Avenue[428] Changing audio setup to:
Avenue[428] Output Device: Built-in Output
Avenue[428] Input Device: Soundflower (2ch)
Avenue[428] Samplerate: 44100
Avenue[428] BlockSize: 512
Avenue[428] CoreAudio error: 530 - 6e6f7065
Avenue[428] CoreAudio error: 530 - 6e6f7065
com.apple.launchd[158] ([0x0-0x4d04d].com.resolume.avenue[428]) Exited abnormally: Segmentation fault
Trying "reset and relaunch" does not work either. I initially was able once to alter my system sound settings and Avenue launched immediately and was working fine until I went into the preferences under the Audio tab to see what was going on and it promptly crashed. Since then I have re-installed a few times, ...can't find a pref file so don't know if it is just a corrupted file I need to trash either. (playing with different system audio configurations no longer seems to make a difference...I even updated the soundflower software to the latest version and still no luck)
Seems to me the input device above should be "LineIn" and NOT soundflower. Soundflower is not selected in my system preferences so I am at a lost as to how to fix this issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance...

two days and not even a single hint or reply?

Re: Crashes at startup: audio setup issue
Sory for our late reply, have you tried uninstalling Soundflower and then running Avenue?

hi bart,
thanks for the reply! here is the latest...
soundflower 1.4.3 has been uninstalled and still avenue crashes on startup. tried switching audio inputs (there are only 2 choices built in mic or line). no dice. opened the console and here is the new error message;
<snip>

5/6/09 12:45:24 AM Avenue[746] begin Setup secondary contexts
5/6/09 12:45:24 AM Avenue[746] invalid drawable

<snip>
so even with my system audio in its default state, it looks like I continue to get the coreaudio error, which then results in the bus error. i have deleted and reinstalled avenue also and still the same problem...
so at this point are there any hidden pref files, etc i need to remove to do a truly clean install of avenue on my system? i say this only because even after the reinstall, it seems the program is remembering the preferences. (such as full screen, etc). i looked in my home pref folder but did not see anything.
any ideas?
(ps running latest os x, latest avenue, plenty of ram/hd space, etc)
thanks!

Re: Crashes at startup: audio setup issue
Could you please remove the files in ~/My Docments/Resolume Avenue 3/Preferences/
And then start Avenue again?
And then start Avenue again?
