Best Video mixer to use with Resolume Avenue?
Anybody got any ideas on the best video mixer to use to get the best out of Resolume Avenue or even has anyone tries mapping a mixer to work with it yet? would love to know your thoughts?

Mixer as in midi controller, I believe you mean?MaverickHBK wrote:Anybody got any ideas on the best video mixer to use to get the best out of Resolume Avenue or even has anyone tries mapping a mixer to work with it yet? would love to know your thoughts?
I suppose it depends on your style of mixing ... There's so many to choose from now, some fairly inexpensive, and some very expensive. The guys say we may see an updated Resolume ReACT Controller some day, but that doesn't help us now

I've used various types, and am still on the hunt for one that uses little space on my gig table, yet offers the most controller in a well laid out arrangement. I don't like the A-B style controllers as I find them too limiting and we use a Edirol V-4 for swapping between VJ feeds. It should have loads of pots and sliders and buttons. It would be nice to have at least one X-Y stick, and a matrix of buttons, but those lend more to plugins or other applications, as resolume has grown up and is no longer locked to a specific number of trigger clip channels.
Sadly, I find there is no perfect solution and I end up carrying a different midi controller to mess with almost every party. Hope springs eternal however

Searching around this forum for midi recommendations and I couldn't really find one but wanted to share my wish-list toy.
Behringer BFC2000 with Motorized Fader Controls:

Selling for around $180 on Ebay.
I run Touch software: http://www.touch077.com/
and used the Peavey PC 1600x for years:
http://tinyurl.com/puan88
It's been a great device but really want motorized faders.
Sometimes is easier to control them on the screen but it's nice to grab them by hand and not have the values jump because they are not synced to the screen faders. Being motorized solves that.
The only other motorized model I've found is the MotorMix midi:
http://www.cmlabs.net/motormix2.html
Which was a lot more expensive! and discontinued right now.
