Unfortunately the new macbook doesn't have pcmcia card, nor express card capability! So it only has usb 2.0.Sven, Der wrote:As far as i see, there is no way to connect either Firewire or eSATA to the new Macbook 13".
As i (beginner) might purchase one of these in the next days, i am asking myself if the lack of these connections is a reason to buy some other laptop.
I know its difficult, but can you somehow estimate how bad it would be for a rookie to use USB 2.0 harddrives instead of faster Firewire Drives? Due to my lack of experience, i am really greatful for any help.
edit: or something else: can i install such an "Esata PCMCIA card" on a new macbook? for this would solve my problems with ease.

Re: firewire vs usb2
What setting will I set to my additional IDE hard disk ? What setting on the jumper will I set to my IDE hard disk If I have already a SATA hard disk as the primary disk or the boot device?
