Basic file management issues

There are several very basic file management tasks that are absent from Resolume. The most important being the ability of Resolume to keep track of where the loops are stored. If you move a file away from it's original position, the clip is simply removed from the project without warning. In all other video/audio programs, if you move a file, the program asks where it is, and asks if you want to find it, replace it or ignore it.
Without this ability, I can NEVER change my file structure on my hard drive. Since I am constantly making new loops (i now have more that a thousand clips), it makes file management almost impossible. This also makes moving compositions and clips between different computers extremely difficult.
Another problem is the fact that you cannot move clips between decks without completely recreating the clip with all the effects and parameters in the new deck.
Lastly, when I make a deck, and then duplicate it (saving as "another name"), if I move the deck called WATER from the duplicated deck into the original deck it REPLACES the original WATER deck with the new WATER deck instead of being added to the list of decks in the composition.

i know this is an old post but i just emailed support the same thing and i'm wondering why no one from resolume ever responded to this post. i continue to find basic functionality that should be in the app.

I'm sorry that we haven't replied to this post earlier, but that might have something todo with the fact that the suggestions made by vjloco have been made many times more. I'm glad i can say that the file management issues will be dealt with in version 4. We are aware of the fact that moving files atm is impossible without editing the composition xml file yourself. Which is a far from ideal situation.
