Yes with Flash support and whith Chaos back, two essential features I think, especially the chaos mode...

Especially flash support for me here. Chaosmode is easy to replicate.. Flash support isn't ;-)

another vote for chaos mode in Avenue :!:

not as easy as pressing the "chaos" button. ;) maybe a lightweight chaos mode for the moment. A button at each layer (On/off) - switching clips of this layer at a random interval. would be fine for the moment.

or even better... some kind of plug-in system would be great - then we could build extensions ourselves. :D :D

Ableton Live -> Resolume works great for setting up a chaos mode...

The combination of MIDI effects and Follow Actions in Live lets you do excellent stuff.

Bad solution, because you'll have to buy Ableton Live for that and to buy it only because you want a Chaos mode...

it does allow you to do far more than "just" chaos mode. ableton and avenue is a fantastic combination.

if what you want is just randomly triggering clips which arent particularly in time with whats going on ( as i generaly found chaos mode to be ) or to just take a break.... then throw some clips on to a dvd and leave that running instead.

No, that haven't got the things that Resolume 2.41 could do...
I don't need Abbleton for other 'great' things, I just need a chaos mode...

Well, I've posted a Max patch that enables a chaos mode in Resolume Avenue. You don't need to buy Max, download the runtime version and you're set.

Check it out here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5239

It's still very rough. Let me know what you think and what features are necessary.

Random Playhead

Post by glasshopper »

Actually regardless of chaos _ I am interested to know when the next patch is available - and one of the features I miss is the ability to set the playhead to random [ Not just BACK FORWARD PAUSE ] - this could be FAT with an audio track synched to a visual played at one frame per second!!!

I keep seeing people hacking different solutions to reimplement features which the old resolume used to contain - this is all well and good - but what are the chances of getting most of the old features back into the new release. Before the addition of new advanced features?

This results in:
a: happy existing/original users [ and in some respect new users ]
b: the ability to run advanced audio visual setups only using resolume [ no extra apps consuming resources ]
c: more awards for resolume as a product

I understand that the possibilities of such a product are incredible: ie in terms of features we are limited by the imagination and skill of the developers - and I am not against many of the new features I am seeing. Ableton and the OSC developments are amazing for going beyond resolume ie Processing, VVVV, real time interactivity.

But my fear is that feature creep is leading to a product which I have paid for yet in some respects should still be classified as BETA.

Resolume - don't get me wrong - ur work is great - its just I have been waiting for Flash for over 9 months - which I am sure is complex in terms of implementation - but in the eyes of many users is a basic requirement.

Can we get an update on the next release - tx again.
