OK, this is now turning into a serious problem.
I have a laptop that is dedicated to performance. On this laptop, and not on my desktop system, Res Avenue has serious problems. Since this is my only portable system that can run Res Avenue, not being able to use it is a serious problem.
1) It crashes when I try to create or open a composition that isn't the demo comp
2) I cannot delete any of the composition-level effects from the demo comp - the program hangs immediately when I click on the little X
3) I edited the config file so that Res starts with a blank comp - I can build a new comp, but then the program will crash when I try to remove effects - the program hangs, as before
I have tried removing Res Avenue and reinstalling. Anything else I can do?
Lenovo W500, Windows Vista SP2, ATI FireGL graphics

Re: HELP - stuck with Res Avenue on gig laptop
Please email us (mail@resolume.com) the log file that Avenue creates on your computer:
MAC: /Users/[username]/Library/Logs/Resolume Avenue 3 log.txt
PC: C:/Documents and Settings/[username]/Application Data/Resolume/Resolume Avenue 3 log.txt
Hopefully that will show us what is going wrong.

Re: [solved] stuck with Res Avenue on gig laptop
I did this:
1) disabled switchable graphics in the laptop BIOS
2) downloaded latest drivers from here: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catal ... on-vista32
3) downloaded the mod tool from here: http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool.php
4) modded the drivers as per instructions
5) installed the new drivers
Now everything is working (except the low-power switchable graphics, but I can live with that).
